A-GRIX TE Resorbable Bone Void Filler from Ascend is a moldable composite material consisting of biphasic surgical grade calcium salts which combine the combines the benefits of different materials.
When A-GRIX TE is mixed with the saline, it will form the biodegradable, biocompatible and radiopaque putty that makes it easy to fill bone defects.
When the bone healing proceeds to the critical period after a few weeks of implantation, part of the calcium salt will first be dissolved, not only releasing calcium cation for the construction of new bone, but also form minimum porous in the composite. This will help the new bones integration and help form a more osteoconductive scaffold. A-GRIX TE is much more synchronized within the rate of new bone growth with a fully resorbed dissolution rate of 126 days.

The ideal bone graft should be completely biodegraded synchrony with bone healing, or else the restoration will be affected. A-GRIX TE is designed for more proper dissolution rate for coordinating the bone healing. This product is derived from our previous material technology and the dissolving time is successfully improved to 4.5 months when is just after the normal healing time of most common fractures and fusions.
Proper dissolution rate will lead to the following benefits:
- Retain higher biostable osteoconductive scaffold and mechanical strength to promote bone growth effectively.
- Act as a space maintainer, allowing for a more complete osteogenesis.
- Act as a carrier for bioactive molecules, the longer absorbing time will prolong the effects of the molecules.
- It will be totally degraded and replaced by new bone tissue. Therefore, prevent the foreign body reaction.
